G. W. ALLEN
Born in Dodge county, Wisconsin in 1851; came with his parents to Jackson County, Wisconsin, when quite young, where they lived until 1864. His father was killed in the war in 1864, after which G. W. and his mother moved to New York, where he lived until 1870, when he came to Clark County, Wisconsin. He worked in the lumbering camps for some time, but finally purchased land and cleared up a farm. He also engaged in manufacturing staves quite extensively. He now owns and runs the Loyal Hotel, has two farms and a large amount of wild land through the county. He was married to Miss Hattie Hallock in 1877. Since moving to Clark County he has accumulated a nice property and is doing a good business. His residence is in the village of Loyal.
